Find Benton County Court Records Through the Court That Actually Holds the Case

Benton County court records are split between Circuit Court and several District Court divisions. Search ARCourts is the main statewide public case portal for Arkansas Circuit Court information, but traffic, misdemeanor, ordinance, small-claims and other District Court matters may require the correct local court.

Quick answer For a Benton County Circuit Court case, start with Search ARCourts and search the participant name or case number. For a traffic ticket, misdemeanor, city ordinance matter or District Court civil case, identify whether the case belongs to Rogers, Bentonville, Siloam Springs or Benton County West before searching or contacting a clerk.

Start With the Type of Case You Need

The record holder changes according to the case. Choosing the correct court first prevents a statewide search from being mistaken for complete county coverage.

Use Search ARCourts first for public Circuit Court case information, then contact the Circuit Clerk for documents or certification.

Which Benton County Court Holds the Record?

Benton County does not have one clerk or one local portal for every court case. Circuit Court and District Court have different responsibilities, and some District Court matters are divided among several local departments.

Circuit Court Felony, major civil, domestic and probate matters

The Benton County Circuit Clerk maintains Circuit Court records. The county states that Criminal Court handles felony cases and appeals sent up from District Court.

District Court Traffic, misdemeanor and limited civil matters

District Courts handle many traffic citations, misdemeanors, ordinance violations, small claims and limited-jurisdiction civil cases.

State appellate Arkansas Supreme Court or Court of Appeals

State appellate case information may also appear through Search ARCourts, but the appellate file is separate from the original Benton County trial case.

Federal U.S. District or Bankruptcy Court

Federal cases use PACER rather than the Benton County Circuit Clerk or a Benton County District Court.

Matter Likely court First search route
Felony criminal case Circuit Court Search ARCourts, then Benton County Circuit Clerk if documents are needed.
Divorce or domestic-relations case Circuit Court Search ARCourts and verify the case with the Circuit Clerk.
Major civil lawsuit Circuit Court Search the participant or case number in Search ARCourts.
Traffic citation or misdemeanor District Court Use the District Court printed on the citation or court notice.
Small claims District Court Contact the appropriate Benton County District Court division.
Federal civil or criminal case Federal Court Search through PACER.
Use the heading on court paperwork. A citation, summons, complaint, judgment, hearing notice or attorney letter usually identifies the court. Do not automatically choose Circuit Court because the event occurred in Benton County.

Use Search ARCourts for Benton County Circuit Court Cases

The Arkansas Judiciary is replacing the older Public CourtConnect experience with Search ARCourts. The current system provides public case information from courts using the Contexte case-management system and supports searches by participant name or case number.

All Arkansas Circuit Courts provide required case statistical information through Search ARCourts. Most Circuit Courts provide additional information through Contexte, while District Court participation is less uniform.

What Search ARCourts can show

Parties

Publicly available participant names and roles associated with the case.

Judge

The judicial officer shown in the public case information when available.

Filings

Docket activity and filings entered in the case record.

Charges and dispositions

Public criminal-case information where access is permitted.

Future events

Upcoming case events included in the public information.

Judgments and documents

Judgment information and, for some public records, links to actual filed documents.

Search ARCourts is not a complete document archive for every case. The amount of public information varies by court, case type and access rule. A docket entry may appear even when its document image is not remotely available.

Search by Case Number When You Have It

A complete case number normally produces a more precise result than a broad name search. Copy the number exactly as it appears on the citation, pleading, summons, order, judgment or Search ARCourts result.

Do not rebuild or guess a missing number. Circuit Court, District Court and appellate cases can use different formats, and a District Court case appealed to Circuit Court may have a different Circuit Court identifier.

Record the full identifier before contacting the clerk. The Benton County Circuit Clerk can locate a specific document more efficiently when you provide the case number, party names and the document or filing date you need.

Benton County Circuit Clerk Court Records and Contact Routes

The Benton County Circuit Clerk is the official custodian of record for the Circuit Court of Benton County. The county states that court records are maintained as permanent records, subject to restrictions such as juvenile confidentiality and other applicable access rules.

Records and archive contacts

The county’s public-records page directs court-docket questions to the Court’s Office at 479-271-1015. Its in-person public-record research instructions list the Recorder’s Office at 215 East Central, Room 202, Bentonville, AR 72712, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Circuit Clerk also lists an Archives contact at 479-271-1710. Call ahead when an older case, archived file or specific court document cannot be located online.

Do not confuse court records with recorded land documents. The Circuit Clerk is also the County Recorder, but deeds, mortgages, liens and other recorded instruments use a different records system from Circuit Court docket cases.

Benton County District Court Records Use Several Local Divisions

A traffic citation, misdemeanor, ordinance case or small-claims matter may belong to a Benton County District Court rather than Circuit Court. Current Arkansas Judiciary directories identify four main District Court divisions for the county.

Division 1

Rogers District Court

1901 South Dixieland Road, Rogers, AR 72758

Criminal and traffic: 479-621-1132
Civil and small claims: 479-621-1138

Rogers states that its District Court handles traffic citations, city and county ordinance violations, criminal misdemeanors, civil suits and small claims.

Division 2

Bentonville District Court

2706 South Walton Boulevard, Bentonville, AR 72712

Phone: 479-271-3120

The official Bentonville court page links to a separate District Court record-search system. Use that local route for Bentonville District Court matters rather than assuming the Circuit Clerk holds the file.

Division 3

Siloam Springs District Court

410 North Broadway, Siloam Springs, AR 72761

Phone: 479-524-4947

Use the Siloam Springs District Court when the citation or case identifies that division. Contact the clerk directly when Search ARCourts does not provide the local detail or document you need.

Division 4

Benton County West District Court

Division 4 includes local departments such as Centerton, Gentry, Gravette, Little Flock, Lowell, Decatur and Sulphur Springs.

Main judicial contact listed by the Arkansas Judiciary: 479-736-8579. Individual departments can have their own clerk contacts.

Use the citation before the county name. If your ticket says Rogers District Court, Bentonville District Court, Siloam Springs District Court or a Benton County West department, contact that court. The Benton County Circuit Clerk FAQ specifically directs misdemeanor and court-date questions to the appropriate District Court.

What Benton County Court Records May Show

Search ARCourts and local clerk systems can provide different levels of information. The case summary is not always the same as the complete court file.

Record type What it may show Best verification route
Case summary Case number, parties, court, judge, filing date and category. Search ARCourts or the local District Court.
Docket Filings, hearings, orders, events and dispositions. Official case portal or record-holding clerk.
Filed document Complaint, motion, order, judgment or other court filing. Open a public document link when available or request a clerk copy.
Certified copy Official court document authenticated by the clerk. Request directly from the court clerk.
Criminal case Charges, docket activity and disposition where publicly accessible. Read the complete case history; a charge is not a conviction.

For help distinguishing a docket, order, judgment and certified record, see Court Record Types Explained and the Court Records Glossary.

Benton County Circuit Court Copy and Certification Fees

The current Benton County Circuit Clerk fee schedule lists separate charges for ordinary court-document copies and authentication services.

Service Current listed fee When it matters
Copy of pleading or document $0.25 per page Ordinary copies of court documents.
Certification of court document $5.00 When an authenticated clerk-certified copy is required.
Authentication of court document or court record $5.00 For the authentication service listed in the Circuit Clerk fee schedule.
Confirm the type of copy before paying. Ask the receiving court, agency, employer or institution whether it needs a plain copy, certified copy or another form of authentication. Fees and procedures can change.

What to Do When a Benton County Court Search Finds Nothing

A zero-result search does not prove that no case exists. The case may be filed in another court level, the participant name may be indexed differently, the District Court may provide limited statewide data, or an older file may require clerk assistance.

1
Remove unnecessary filters.

Search the first and last name before adding a court, date or case-type restriction.

2
Try legitimate name variations.

Test a middle initial, former surname, suffix or business name without punctuation or corporate endings.

3
Check Circuit versus District Court.

A traffic citation or misdemeanor may never appear where you expected a Circuit Court case.

4
Read the citation or old paperwork.

The court name and case number can identify the correct Rogers, Bentonville, Siloam Springs, Benton County West or Circuit Court route.

5
Search by case number.

Use the full identifier exactly as the court issued it whenever possible.

6
Ask about older records.

Contact the Circuit Clerk Archives line or the local District Court clerk if the case predates the accessible electronic information.

7
Consider public-access restrictions.

Juvenile, sealed, confidential or otherwise protected material may not be publicly available online.

Portal problem versus case question For a technical Search ARCourts question, the Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts lists 501-410-1900, option 1 and 866-823-5778. For a question about an individual case, contact the court where it was filed.

Older Benton County Court Records May Require the Clerk

Electronic case access is not the same as the complete historical archive. If an older Benton County case does not appear online, contact the current record-holding clerk and ask whether the file is maintained in an older index, archive or another storage format.

The Benton County Circuit Clerk lists an Archives contact at 479-271-1710. Prepare the full party names, approximate filing year, case type and case number if known before requesting an archive search.

Ask a specific archive question. Instead of asking for “everything under this name,” tell the clerk the approximate year, parties and likely case type. That gives the office a narrower record to identify.

Some Court Information Is Not Available to the Public Online

Arkansas Search ARCourts operates under Arkansas Supreme Court Administrative Order 19. The Arkansas Judiciary states that information not considered public under that order will not be available on the Internet.

The Benton County Circuit Clerk also identifies juvenile court records as an exception to the general statement that its court records are public information. Other records or individual documents may also be sealed, confidential or restricted under applicable law or court order.

Do not treat “not online” as “does not exist.” A record can be restricted from remote access even when another lawful access process exists. Do not attempt to bypass a sealed or confidential-record restriction.

A Benton County Court Search Is Not a Criminal Background Check

The Benton County Circuit Clerk specifically states that its office does not perform criminal record checks. A court-name search is designed to find court cases, not to produce a complete identity-verified criminal-history report.

Your goal Correct route Important distinction
Find a Benton County court case Search ARCourts or the appropriate District Court A same-name result does not prove identity.
Obtain a Circuit Court document Benton County Circuit Clerk A certified copy must come from the clerk.
Public Arkansas criminal-history search Arkansas State Police / ARCH This is a different service from a court-case search.
PublicCourtRecords.org is not a consumer reporting agency. Do not use this informational page as an employment, tenant, credit, insurance or other eligibility-screening report.

Federal Cases From Northwest Arkansas Use PACER

Benton County is within the federal court system served by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. The Western District has a divisional office in Fayetteville, but electronic federal case records are searched through PACER rather than Search ARCourts.

PACER covers federal district, bankruptcy and appellate court records. A Benton County state felony, divorce, probate, District Court ticket or Arkansas civil case does not become a PACER case simply because it occurred in Arkansas.

Verify the Case Before Drawing a Conclusion

Search results can contain people with the same or similar names. Review the actual case context before treating a result as belonging to the person you intended to search.

Court

Confirm that the case is in the expected Circuit or District Court.

Party role

Check whether the person is plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent or another participant.

Case type

Do not confuse criminal, civil, domestic, probate, traffic or small-claims matters.

Filing date

Compare the year and event timing with the matter you are researching.

Case number

Use the complete number to return to the same file or request a document.

Disposition

Read the later outcome rather than relying on an initial charge, complaint or allegation.

A docket entry is not always the document, and a filing is not always the outcome. Read later orders, dismissals, judgments or dispositions before interpreting what happened in a case.
